As a freethinkers' collective, the entity known by the name of Blue Shirts could not exist, without some sort of underlying common beliefs. The Blue Shirt ideology comprises select aspects of such philosophical notions as Existentialism, Hedonism, Enlightenment, and Absurdity.
We employ the Existential paradigm to create our music - there are no pre-determinates when it comes to a Blue Shirt gathering; one can never be certain who exactly will grace us with their presence at any given event, and usually it is decided at the last moment, who exactly will play what instrument, and there is always a possibility of a spontaneous switch. Each live performance by the Blue Shirts, therefore, is an existential free-for-all. Come whatever may, play whatever may, happen whatever may. Blue Shirts are Hedonistic, because we, as an entity consider the fulfillment of our desires to be the ultimate goal of life. We desire to be in a free improvisational noise collective. We desire to confuse narrow-minded listeners. We desire to be the Blue Shirts. We follow the principles of enlightenment, and achievement thereof, for we believe that each one of us has a mind (alternatively, reason) of our own, and we need to employ our own reason, on our own terms, without having someone (anyone) else tell us how to employ the aforementioned reason/mind. We as a mass of people need to break free from the disseminated view of reason as something to be taught how to use, and rather migrate towards the view that reason is our own, to explore and employ as we wish, not as we are told to. And finally, we employ a specific view of Absurdity, that no matter what we do (or, do not do) it will not affect the universe in any significant way. No matter how much processed feedback we release into the atmosphere, we will never change the fact that oxygen is a necessary condition for the existence of fire. So why do we do it?
